Music has always been there and I used to experiment with ways of recording tunes and doing voice-overs on them. (I'm sure my parents thought I was mad). I can remember hounding my mother for some felt to make a slip mat for our old turntable!
I put together a demo when I was 15 and sent it into Larry Gogan (my hero at the time) It was an awful demo but Larry replied with words of encouragement (I still have the letter!)
Through the local youth club, my mate (who's web-page can be accessed through the link below) and I, started doing the "mobile disco" circuit. We were known as "Metrosound" and we were the bees knees. Click on the Metrosound link to the left to read more about that!
We both had a passion for radio and it wasn't long before I was involved with NDCR (North Dublin Community Radio) and that's another page.
Work took me abroad for a few years where I had some great experiences in BBC Radio Bristol, GWR and Bristol Hospital Broadcasting in the UK. On my return I spent a few pleasant years with Beaumont Hospital Broadcasting (see their link below). Great times and great memories and a big thanks to Dave Dennehy for all the work and allowing me to do my thing.
Then, I got the call from Eamonn Doyle in LMFM and spent 5 enjoyable years on "The Voice of the North-East", including the last 3 years on the Breakfast Club. (It was the 5.am starts that I loved!!). LMFM are still going strong, a great radio station and you can find a link to their website below.
And now......... well it's back home to Kildare and KFM where on Saturdays from 11am to 2pm I inflict my radio style on anyone who'll listen. Check out the Kfm link to your left!
Also, don't forget email, text or phone the Saturday Show!
